Child and Youth Mental Health Counsellor

Funded by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD), the Child and Youth Mental Health Counsellor position provides clinical counselling support services in the Mount Waddington Region (MWR), to at-risk youth aged 13-18, and their families. The program can also provide services to youth < 13 years of age, at the discretion of the counsellor.

Individuals in this program, are either referred by social workers, physicians or self-referred. There is high demand for these services in the (MWR).

 

The CYMHC offers flexible hours and can provide outreach services to accommodate clients that are more comfortable in a less formal setting.  The CYMHC provides clinical consultation, that must follow Mental Health Plan guidelines.  This position is part of the larger regional community-based Child and Youth Mental Health team, working under MCFD.
