Child and Youth Counsellor
The Child and Youth Counsellor provides counselling to youth and their families in Port McNeill. This position is funded by the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
The Child and Youth Counsellor is part of the larger regional community-based Child and Youth Mental Health team.
North Island Community Services Society now has an exciting opportunity and is accepting applications for a permanent full-time Child & Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Counsellor, located in Port McNeill. This position provides support services and counselling for youth and at-risk youth with specific life challenges. The duration and depth of service is case specified.
This rewarding position works closely with the individuals, families, schools, Mental Health, and the Ministry to provide support, intervention, education and other services to children and youth groups and individuals.
35 hours a week. Wage is $32.55-34.55 depending on education and experience, plus a comprehensive and competitive benefits package.
Applicants must have a Master’s degree in applicable field OR a Certificate in counselling. Must have own vehicle and clear driver’s abstract. Clear and recent Ministry of Justice criminal records check and current Level One First Aid certificate.
